Long Beach High School Baseball Preview

There are no lockouts to worry about in high school baseball, and local fans have what should be a memorable and thrilling season to look forward to. As usual the Moore League is wide open for a four-team championship race and every team this year features big-name talent that will play at the next level.

Perhaps just as important as the talent on the field is the field itself. Every coach and player we spoke to expressed excitement about the return to Bohl Diamond at Blair Field, one of the best fields anywhere in the country, and a special place that Long Beach built just for its high school studs. Almost no high school games took place at the stadium last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but a full schedule will take place there this year, while the nationally-ranked Dirtbags are embarking on what will hopefully be a successful season as well.

Players, coaches, and fans alike can look forward to the special tradition of watching historic rivals line up on a world-class field, with a Long Beach sunset in the background. Baseball is back–we’ll see ya at Blair.

NOTE: Softball fans don’t worry, we’ve got you covered too! Come back Tuesday for our comprehensive softball preview.
