Jordan is preparing for another tough game on the road, as the Panthers will travel to Charter Oak on Friday night. The North Side is currently sporting a tough 0-4 record, while Charter Oak is coming in with confidence behind a 3-0 undefeated record.

The one thing J-Town will want to focus on this week is its offense. Through their first four games, the Panthers have only scored 38 points while allowing 142 points from their opponents.

Senior Sama’Jay Jackson has been a key leader for the North. Jackson opened the season with a touchdown and seven catches for 106 yards against Compton. The senior has been supported by quarterback Caydyn Hampton, who has been stepping into a big leadership role for the Panthers.

Charter Oak is rolling into this game with a 3-0 record behind some strong offensive performances. Through their first three games, the Chargers have outscored their opponents 111-25, most recently claiming a 49-15 win over Tesoro last week.

Sophomore Chase Martin is an offensive threat for Charter Oak, leading his team in total touchdowns and receiving yards per game, according to MaxPreps. Senior quarterback Dutch Burbidge has also been a key player for the team, throwing 10 TDs so far. This offense will continue working as the Chargers try to keep things moving at home against Jordan this Friday.

The two teams first faced off almost exactly a year ago. On Sept. 26, 2025, Charter Oak defeated Jordan 42-7. The Panthers will try to bounce back with a first-year head coach, fresh energy, and new team this Friday for their rematch.
