In one of the highest scoring CIF Southern Section boys’ soccer playoffs games this week, Long Beach Poly went on the road Thursday night and edged Palos Verdes 5-4 in Division 2 action.

Steve Marquez scored twice for Poly while Favio Lopez, Damian Gonzalaz and Joshua Cholico also scored goals.

Poly (9-4-8) will host Hesperia on Saturday in the second round.
