Long Beach High School Softball Preview

For years Moore League softball was one of the most predictable local sports. Lakewood was the top team with elite talent competing in the upper divisions while Millikan, Wilson and Long Beach Poly took turns leading the chase pack behind the Lancers.

However, things have been shifting locally. This year it’s the Rams who are reigning league champions and Long Beach Poly has the league Pitcher of the Year back in their lineup.

“This is the most parity I’ve seen in years,” Lakewood coach Andy Miramontes said. “I think it’s going to come down to who wants it the most.”
