Once again, Long Beach announced itself loudly at a postseason track and field meet. The Wilson girls won back-to-back CIF State titles and the Long Beach Poly boys claimed the CIF State title as well as the Bruins and Jackrabbits made it a Long Beach sweep at the CIF State Track & FIeld Finals in Clovis on Saturday.
There were 96 boys’ teams competing and 95 girls’ teams competing, but Long Beach ended up on top of the podium in both team races in an impressive showing. Millikan and Jordan both picked up bronze medals as well in individual competitions.
