A pair of big offensive nights have clinched the final regular season series for the Long Beach State Dirtbags. They’ve won five of the last seven games and their last three Big West Conference series.

On Thursday, the Dirtbags (32-22, 16-13) beat visiting UC Davis 8-1 on Bohl Diamond at Blair Field. Starting pitcher Nico Zeglin delivered yet another quality start in his last collegiate game as he struck out 10 in seven scoreless innings. It’s his fifth double-digit strikeout performance of the season. Jonathan Long also made history by hitting two home runs, and he now ranks second in program history with 25 career home runs. Jeff Liefer holds the record with 30.

On Saturday, the Dirtbags scored double-digits for the 12th time this season in a 10-3 win over the Aggies. LBSU scored six runs in their last two innings. Connor Burns, Eddie Saldivar, Jack Hammond and Kyle Ashworth all hit doubles while Nick Marinconz, Alex Champagne and Burns all had two RBI.

The last game of the regular season is scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight after pregame Senior Night ceremonies.
