HIGH SCHOOL

Jordan Washington, Jordan Track & Field

Jordan junior track star Jordan Washington had a sensational CIF-SS Masters Meet, finishing second in the 100 and 200 to Serra’s record-setting Rodrick Pleasant. Their battle will be a highlight of this weekend’s CIF State meet as Washington ran a 10.24 and a 20.81.

Aujane Luckey, Wilson Track & Field

Wilson senior Aujane Luckey, an ASU signee, is leading the Bruins’ title hopes into State as she qualified in the 400 with a top mark of 52.71, as well as a 24.12 200. Luckey also leads the Bruins’ 4×400 which has state title expectations.

Jai’ya Jones, Lakewood Track & Field

Lakewood junior Jai’ya Jones made history last week, leading the Lancers’ 4×100 to qualify for the CIF State Meet while also becoming the first Lancer to qualify for State in the 100, running an 11.87.

Xai Ricks, Long Beach Poly Track & Field

Long Beach Poly junior Xai Ricks has been leading the Jackrabbits’ squad this year and he qualified in the 400 in 46.50, second-best in the State; he could also lead Poly’s 4×400 and 4×800 as they also qualified for State.

COLLEGE

Cole Santander, Dirtbags Baseball

Sophomore Cole Santander led the offense in a rivalry series victory for the Dirtbags. Hitting .500 for the weekend, he drove in both LBSU runs in the Friday victory and then drove in a huge insurance run in Saturday’s win.
