Forty-One Long Beach Entries Prepare For CIF-SS Track and Field Masters

The562’s coverage of track and field is sponsored by Bryson Financial

This Saturday’s CIF Southern Section Masters Track and Field meet will feature 41 Long Beach entries, as the city’s last remaining high school athletes in the 2022-23 school year look to continue their excellent seasons. Poly and Wilson swept the team Division 1 championships last week, and both will be contenders at the CIF State meet in Fresno on Memorial Day weekend.

The Masters meet this Saturday back at Moorpark combines all four CIF-SS divisions and serves as the State qualifier–the top six finishers in each competition will advance to State, as well as anyone hitting the at-large standards. This week will also see Poly and Wilson compete in the 4×800, which will be a new scoring event at the CIF State meet.
