HIGH SCHOOL

Max Pemberton, Long Beach Poly Baseball

Max Pemberton came through in the clutch for the Jackrabbits in their first-round playoff game, with a walkoff inside the park homerun against Beckman to propel Poly to a 7-6 victory.

Robby Shepherd, St. Anthony Baseball

Robby Shepherd went 5-6 with 3 RBIs and two doubles for St. Anthony in a blowout first-round playoff win that saw the Saints put up 20 runs.

Cameron Hegamin, Millikan Baseball

Millikan senior Cameron Hegamin helped power the Rams into the second round as he put up two hits, a run and an RBI in the Rams’ 3-2 win over Maranatha in the opening round of the playoffs.

Emoni Lamsam, Long Beach Poly Softball

Freshman standout Emoni Lamsam helped push Long Beach Poly to a first-round playoff win, as she had two hits, two RBI, and a run scored in Poly’s victory over Mira Costa.

Ky Stopp, Wilson Golf

Ky Stopp made history last week when he defended his Moore League individual golf title, claiming the trophy for the second year in a row. Stopp is just the ninth-ever golfer to repeat as Moore League champion.

COLLEGE

Ian Gilligan, Long Beach State Golf

Ian Gilligan won the Big West Individual title after sinking a birdie in the sudden-death playoff on the 18th hole. He finished the Big West Championship shooting 69-71-71 for a 5-under par performance of 211 capturing his fourth individual title of the season.
