The Jordan girls’ basketball team is advancing in the CIF Southern Section Division 4AA playoffs after winning their postseason opener on the road against Whittier, 54-41.

The Panthers will host Glendale in North Long Beach on Saturday at 7 p.m., trying to advance to the quarterfinals.

Jordan was led by sophomore Breana Patu, who had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Jay Moore had eight points and five steals, and Asia Edwards had 11 points and three steals.
