John Ross Sponsors The562.org’s Jordan Coverage

The562.org is pleased to announce our latest school-specific sponsor. Panthers alum and current NFL player John Ross has stepped up to sponsor all of The562’s coverage of Jordan High School from now through the 2022-23 school year.

Ross was an All-American on the football field and is one of the best football players or sprinters to ever come out of Jordan.

“Anyone who knows me knows how much pride I have in coming from Jordan,” said Ross. “Mike and JJ’s videos were the thing we looked forward to most after a football game–I’m proud to be able to help them keep covering kids in Long Beach like I was.”

“Nothing is more meaningful to us than when athletes that our reporters covered turn around and give back to the community and help us continue our mission of spotlighting Long Beach’s kids and schools,” said The562’s publisher, Andy Kerr.

Jordan is in the midst of a renaissance, with football, basketball, and track programs on the rise among other programs, with improvement to the physical campus occurring alongside improvements to those teams. The562 has chronicled those turnarounds, with almost 1,000 articles, videos, and photo galleries about the Panthers over the last four years.

Ross is the latest sponsor to help to support The562’s award-winning local sports coverage. Previous sponsors include the Cohn family sponsoring Cabrillo coverage, Joel Bitonio sponsoring Wilson coverage, Naples Car Wash sponsoring Long Beach State volleyball coverage, P2S, Inc sponsoring our Dirtbags coverage, Bryson Financial sponsoring this year’s cross country coverage and Aqualand sponsoring water polo.

As a non-profit news outlet, The562 depends on reader support and sponsorships in order to cover the Long Beach community. If you’re interested in sponsoring The562’s coverage, or coverage of a specific school or sport, email Tyler@The562.org or visit our Support page to get involved. Any donation made to The562 is fully tax-deductible.
