Lakewood hits the road to Rancho Verde on Friday for the Division 8 CIF-SS semifinals. If they win, they would host either Northwood or Vista Del Lago at John Ford Stadium on Black Friday for the Division 8 championship. 

If you put any stock in CalPreps’ score projections, the Lancers will host that championship. CalPreps’ projection for the Lakewood/RV game has the Lancers winning 31-21.

How accurate is the CalPreps projection system? It had Long Beach Poly losing by 11 points to Los Al last week (they lost by 10), Millikan beating Cypress by three (they lost by one) and Lakewood beating Redondo Union by nine (they won by 26).
