JP Crawford Sponsors Lakewood High Coverage For 2022-23

The562 is pleased to announce that our coverage of Lakewood High School for the 2022-23 school year will be sponsored by Lancers alum and current MLB star JP Crawford.

Crawford graduated in 2013 after a standout Moore League career, and was drafted straight out of high school. The 2020 Golden Glover is in his sixth MLB season with a very bright future. The Crawford legacy runs deep at Lakewood, where JP’s sisters Eliza and Julia were standouts on the softball and volleyball teams.

“Nothing means more to us than when athletes that JJ, Mike and Tyler covered in high school come back and support our non-profit outlet,” said the562.org publisher Andy Kerr. “I hope the next generation of Lancers understands how special it is for one of their own to make a donation that allows us to keep providing our award-winning coverage.”

Crawford’s sponsorship will help support The562’s Lakewood coverage with articles, photos, videos, feature stories, and more.

“I loved the highlight videos and coverage when I was in high school and I’m happy to make sure that they keep going,” said Crawford. As a non-profit news outlet, The562 depends on reader support and sponsorships in order to cover the Long Beach community. Visit our “562 100” page to see a list of our existing sponsors. If you or your business would like to support The562’s coverage of a particular sport, please email Tyler Hendrickson at Tyler@The562.org.
