It was a memorable day for the Long Beach track and field world at Saturday’s CIF-SS Track and Field Finals at sweltering Moorpark High. Four city high schools had athletes competing, and all of them saw at least one athlete bring home a CIF-SS gold. 

In the team standings, Jordan made history while Poly and Wilson also brought home plaques.

Tyler Hendrickson was born and raised in Long Beach, and started covering sports in his hometown in 2010. After five years as a sportswriter, Tyler joined the athletic department at Long Beach State University in 2015.
