Three local girls’ water polo teams opened the CIF-SS playoffs on Tuesday as Millikan, Poly and Lakewood were all in action.

Division 3

Millikan 23, La Quinta 3

Citrus Valley 8, Long Beach Poly 3

The Jackrabbits went on the road and came up short in their playoff opener.

Division 5

Lakewood 12, Charter Oak 7

The Lancers went on the road to win their first-round matchup and have earned a home game in round two. Lakewood will host Malibu High on Thursday at 5 p.m. after the Sharks held off Louisville High, 8-7, in their first-round game.
