It’s a huge day for Long Beach high school sports, with two water polo teams and one tennis team trying to punch their ticket to this weekend’s championships, and a volleyball team opening its state playoffs.

Boys’ Water Polo

Division 1: Wilson vs. Loyola (Woollett Aquatic Center, 6:30 p.m.)

Division 4: Long Beach Poly vs. Portola (Woodbridge High, 5 p.m.)

Girls’ Tennis

Division 4: Long Beach Poly vs. Geffen Academy (Poly High, 2 p.m.)

Girls’ Volleyball

CIF State Open Division: Lakewood @ San Diego Cathedral Catholic, 6 p.m.
