High School Football Preview: St. Anthony vs. St. Genevieve

St. Anthony and St. Paul are on a collision course for a Del Rey League championship game next week in the regular season finale for the Saints, but first they have to go on the road tonight and beat St. Genevieve tonight. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Los Angeles Valley College.

“They’re very sound on both sides of the ball,” St. Anthony coach Mario Morales said of St. Genevieve. “This is one of the best teams they’ve had since I’ve been at St. Anthony.”

St. Genevieve (4-3, 0-1) lost to Harvard-Westlake on the road last week after starting the season 3-1. The Valiants are a run-heavy offense that has scored 13 touchdowns this season while averaging 7.8 yards per carry.

St. Anthony (4-4, 2-0) is on a three-game winning streak after an exciting Homecoming victory last week. The Saints haven’t lost to St. Genevieve since a 2013 overtime defeat on the road.

Below is the video highlight from the game between these schools last year.
