Water Polo: Millikan Cruises Past Jordan

Millikan has been the second-best team in the Moore League the last few years, and the Rams are hoping to push Wilson in their meeting in October. The Rams made a statement with a strong group of returners in the Moore League Water Polo Showcase against Jordan. The Rams relied on a variety of scorers as they built a big lead and cruised to victory over the Panthers, 18-3.

“In a game like this we want to play as clean as possible, execute, and not make any mistakes,” said Rams coach Danely Smith, who was pleased with his team’s performance. “I want the other teams in the league to see that Millikan is bringing it.”

The Rams had five players score multiple goals, with Matt Brown scoring a hat trick alongside Matt Hernandez. Daniel Chenier, Zack Jamali, and Jackson Navas each chipped in a pair. Jordan goalie Ka’Li Wormley was peppered throughout the game but had six saves. The Panthers fell behind 18-0 after three quarters but did get a hat trick from Armando Vargas in the fourth quarter.

Millikan visits Lakewood on Oct. 9 while Jordan will visit Poly.
