CAMS’ Jenna Ogi Named State Scholar Of The Year

Jenna Ogi, a California Academy of Mathematics and Science (CAMS) student, was named the CIF State’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year last weekend. The CAMS campus is located in Carson at the Cal State Dominguez Hills campus but it’s an LBUSD high school.

Ogi, a National Merit Scholar who carries a 4.0 unweighted GPA, participates in cross country, soccer, and track at CAMS and was a four-year athlete in all three sports. She was also the captain of all three teams her senior year.

Ogi has interned at Stanford and UC Irvine’s Medical Centers.

“Jenna has the desire, self-discipline and the attitude to do well at anything she chooses,” said CAMS Athletic Director Renee Brown. “With her many accolades and demonstrated academic and athletic success, Jenna has the capacity to see her future plans come to fruition.”

Ogi hasn’t yet decided on a college but plans to study medicine with a focus on neurobiology.
