The562’s football coverage for the 2026-27 school year is sponsored by Long Beach Poly alums Wendell “WoWo” Moe, Jr. & Tyson Ruffins.

The Compton football program clinched its first-ever Hub City League championship on Friday night with a 47-6 win over Centennial.

Compton finished the regular season 9-1, completing an undefeated league campaign with its win over Centennial in the program’s first year in the Hub City League. The last time Compton won a league championship was nearly 50 years ago, when the Tarbabes claimed their last Moore League title in 1979.

Compton will have a bye next week before the CIF Southern Section playoff brackets are released next Sunday, Nov. 1, at 10 am.
