PREVIEW: Avalon Football vs. ACES

The Avalon 8-Man football team will hit the road to face ACES on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Avalon (4-1, 2-1) is coming off of a heartbreaking loss to Sage Hill in the final seconds of their Express League showdown.

“We’re definitely motivated,” Avalon coach Michael Forcella said. “The last-second loss last week was obviously difficult to deal with, but the guys are focused on getting back to winning.”

ACES (3-1, 1-0) is the Academy of Career & Exploration out of the Agape League in Helendale. The Eagles are averaging 268.3 yards per game as a team while senior Cody Ferrin has scored a team-high eight touchdowns.

Senior Jason Campos and sophomore Adalberto Martinez have combined to score 13 of the 19 touchdowns scored by Avalon this season.
