Lakewood Flag Football picked up two crucial wins over Jordan and Millikan last week. Senior Layla Kawamura had two offensive touchdowns and a pick 6 in the pair of victories.
Kennah Iamaleava, Long Beach Poly Girls’ Volleyball
Kennah Iamaleava is the reigning Moore League Player of the Year, and she’s proving why. In Long Beach Poly’s sweep over Millikan, Iamaleava had seven kills, four aces, five blocks and six digs.
Amai’a Johnson, Long Beach Poly Flag Football
Long Beach Poly Flag Football picked up a huge 20-6 Moore League win against Millikan. Amai’a Johnson had a big day running the ball for the Jackrabbits, including a long touchdown rush for the final score of the game.
Edward Rivera, Compton Football
Edward Rivera has been a dangerous weapon for the Tarbabes this season, and Friday night was no exception. The senior scored three touchdowns in Compton’s 34-6 win against Narbonne that improved their perfect record to 5-0.

Chayse Owens, LBCC Men’s Soccer
Chayse Owens has been hot to start his freshman year at LBCC. Owens has six goals and one assist through six games this season, including a brace and the game-winner in a recent 3-2 win against College of the Desert.
