HIGH SCHOOL
Estella Lopez and Bella Bonales, Millikan Beach Volleyball
The Millikan Rams claimed a CIF-SS title for Beach Volleyball after defeating Windward 4-1. With the Rams missing a few key players who were out of town playing at the USA Volleyball U-18 Junior National Championship, Estella Lopez and Bella Bonales paired up for the first time ever and won 21-15, 21-18 to help bring home the title.
Bella Salley-Najjarian, Wilson Girls’ Swim
Sophomore Bella Salley-Najjarian had a big night at Moore League Finals representing the Wilson Bruins. Salley-Najjarian won two individual events along with a relay in the 50 Free (24.83), 100 Free (53.99) and the 200 Free Relay as the Bruins’ anchor.
Kamden Harden, Long Beach Poly Boys’ Tennis
Kamden Harden was crowned the Moore League Boys’ Tennis Singles Champion. The freshman is the first Long Beach Poly boys’ champion since 2019, claiming his title after taking down Wilson’s Jake Paiva 6-0, 6-1 to cap off his dominant Moore League run.
John Schroeder, Wilson Boys’ Golf
Wilson freshman John Schroeder had a great week at the Moore League Individual Boys’ Golf Tournament, ending the competition as the Individual Champion. Schroeder finished with a total score of 290 across four rounds.
Lucas Jue, Long Beach Poly Boys’ Swim
Long Beach Poly’s Lucas Jue left his mark at his final Moore League Boys’ Swim Finals. The senior Jackrabbits set two individual meet records in the 200 IM and 500 Free along with a new Moore League record in the 500 Free with a time of 4:21.83. Jue also helped the Jackrabbits finish first in the Medley Relay.
Malachi Dawson, Long Beach Poly Boys’ Track
Malachi Dawson went 3-for-3 representing the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits at the Moore League Track & Field Finals. Dawson claimed gold in the 200m (21.38), 4×100 and 100m.
Clara Adams, Wilson Girls’ Track
Wilson’s Clara Adams won gold at the Moore League Track & Field Finals, going 2-for-2 in her events. Adams secured wins in the 200m (23.94) and 400m (52.80), setting a new California season high and No. 6 time in the country for the 400m.
Daunte Bell, Millikan Baseball
Daunte Bell continued his Moore League Baseball dominance for Millikan with an impressive showing against Long Beach Poly. Bell went the distance against the Jackrabbits, pitching all seven innings and racking up 8 strikeouts while only allowing 2 hits and 1 run to keep Millikan in first place.
