When Lakewood and Jordan clash on Friday night the story will be about the offenses.
In every Lakewood win, senior quarterback Kade Casillas has played a huge role in how the team does. When the Lancers are successful he’s able to distribute the ball to his playmakers and keep defenses honest with his feet.
Last week, Casillas scored six touchdowns as the Lancers (4-3, 2-1) defeated Cabrillo 49-7. He threw four touchdowns and ran for another two.
Taiwan Jones and Kenny Niumatavaelu have been vital in stretching the field for the Lancers and are a big reason why Lakewood has won by 21 points or more in each of those games.
Jordan (1-5, 0-2) is looking to do the little things right to keep the offense on the field. Quarterback Sama’Jay Jackson will be vital in keeping the sticks moving and the team will need some production out of Marcus Williams to keep Lakewood’s offense off the field.
Last week, the Panthers jumped out to a 10-7 lead at halftime against Millikan last week with 157 yards on the ground. But, Jordan wasn’t able to keep that momentum in the second half as the Rams outscored the Panthers 42-0 in the second half to pull away.
Jordan needs a win to keep themselves in the conversation for a playoff spot, while Lakewood is still mathematically in the conversation for first place.
