HIGH SCHOOL

Da’mari “Deuce” Taylor, Jordan Football

Jordan’s Da’mari “Deuce” Taylor had a breakout game for the Panthers to get them their first win of the season against George Washington Prep. Taylor had 305 total yards and four touchdowns, with four catches for 150 yards and a pair of scores, plus eight rushes for 155 yards and another two TDs.

Mack Cooper, Wilson Football

Wilson bounced back this week with a huge win to improve to 2-1 on the season. Bruins quarterback Mack Cooper threw three touchdowns to help put 27 points up on the board and secure the win, two to his favorite target Max Barbee.

Simrin Adams, Wilson Volleyball

Wilson pulled out a thrilling five-set win over Millikan last week to remain undefeated in the Moore League, thanks in large part to star player Simrin Adams. She was a little slow getting going, then had 10 of her match-high 21 kills in the final two sets to lead her team to a win.

COLLEGE

Ella Lomigora, Long Beach State Volleyball

Ella Lomigora led the Long Beach State defense with 1.67 blocks per set and helped limit Northwestern to a .081 hitting percentage over two matches last week. The sophomore middle blocker put up five blocks and nine kills on Thursday against Northwestern, before coming back Saturday and posting a career-high 10 blocks in a five-set win over the Wildcats.
