The final non conference game of the season was a moment to celebrate for the Long Beach State Dirtbags as they beat Cal Baptist 9-7 on Monday night on Bohl Diamond at Blair Field.

A few singles and a second RBI double from John Newman Jr. sparked a four-run fourth inning that gave LBSU (23-25-1, 8-16) a lead for good.

Offensively for the Dirtbags, Adrian Lopez was 3-for-5 with two RBI to lead the Dirtbags while Connor Charpiot had two hits and drove in three runs, while Newman had two doubles and two RBI.

LBSU used pitchers Cristien Banda, Mason Dillow, Collin Miskelly, Jonathan Largaespeda and Mike Villani to scatter 11 hits and limit Cal Baptist to just three runs in the first seven innings while the Dirtbags built a lead. Cal Baptist scored four runs in the final two innings.

The Dirtbags finish the season by hosting Hawaii this weekend.
