Momentum from a thrilling wild card win this week didn’t carry over for Long Beach Poly in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 3 softball playoffs on Thursday.

The Jackrabbits lost 9-2 at Etiwanda.

Etiwanda (24-5) showed why it is a Baseline League co-champion and top four seed in the bracket with an impressive performance.

Poly (15-8) finished third in the Moore League.
