The Cabrillo boys’ basketball team picked up a historic playoff win under head coach Chris Spencer on Wednesday evening, traveling in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 4A playoffs. The Jaguars (17-13) picked up their first playoff win in program history with a 68-48 defeat of Pomona on the road, knocking off the Marmonte League co-champions.

The Jaguars were led by Lincoln Dean’s 26 points, including 13 points in the fourth quarter; Mason Johnson’s 16 points and 14 rebounds; and Jeremy Siquig’s 11 points and four steals. The Jaguars trailed to start the fourth quarter but went on a big run to seal the game.

Cabrillo will host La Salle on Friday evening in the second round of the playoffs.
