The St. Anthony Saints are closing out the regular season on Friday night, and they’re hoping to capture one more win against a tough Harvard Westlake squad. St. Anthony is repping a heavy 1-8 overall record with a 1-3 record in the Del Rey League.
Harvard Westlake has had a more successful season overall with a 5-4 record, but they are even further behind in the Del Rey League with an 0-4 record. The Wolverines started the 2026 season with pure strength, going on a five game win streak before losing four consecutive to league opponents.
The Saints only win in the Del Rey League was a 17-14 victory over La Salle on Oct. 9, the same team Harvard Westlake lost 47-30 to last week. St. Anthony suffered a 24-14 loss to Salesian last week in their latest string of tough results, who the Wolverines also lost 35-28 to earlier this month.
It will come back to senior quarterback Aidan Jones and sophomore receiver Juice Smith for the Saints. The pair have been connecting on big plays throughout the season, highlighted by two 60+ yard touchdowns against Valley Christian.
Senior running back Evan Martinez has also been a dangerous weapon for St. Anthony, controlling the ground game for the Saints offense. Senior Dion Myers has also been contributing on both sides of the ball, but a young St. Anthony squad has struggled to find their footing this semester.
Despite the losing streak, Harvard Westlake has already had a better season this year than in 2025. Last year, the Wolverines were 3-7 overall, which included a tough 44-8 loss against Birmingham.
This year, they started turning things around and got revenge in a 21-7 win at Birmingham. There are even bright spots in some of the team’s losses. Harvard Westlake only allowed 18 in an 18-13 loss to Bishop Alemany — a team that dominated the Saints in a 56-7 win.
Both teams are looking for a win to end the rough stretch and pull them out of their recent ruts. Kickoff is set for 7pm at Clark Field.
