HIGH SCHOOL

Ryann Bennett, St. Anthony Basketball

St. Anthony senior Ryann Bennett led the Saints to a 3-1 start to the season last year, as she averaged a team-high 18.3 points per game, along with 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists per game as well.

Quincy Phillips, St. Anthony Basketball

St. Anthony got off to a nice start to the season with a big win over Long Beach Poly last week, led by senior guard Quincy Phillips, who had an efficient 30-point performance in the win over the Jackrabbits.

Jason Parra, Millikan Cross Country

Millikan senior Jason Parra made history last weekend, winning an individual CIF-SS Division 1 cross country title with a time of 13:57 at Mt. SAC, the fastest time ever by a CIF-SS champion. Parra is the first-ever Rams individual cross country CIF-SS champion.

COLLEGE

Marcus Tsohonis, Long Beach State Basketball

Tsohonis scored 35 points on 12-of-19 shooting as Long Beach State went into Ann Arbor and defeated Michigan, 94-86. In addition to his scoring totals, Tsohonis had a career-high 7 rebounds and made three assists and two steals against the Wolverines.
