Girls’ Flag Football Preview: Cabrillo Jaguars

The562’s coverage of Cabrillo Athletics is sponsored by the Cohn Family.

The Jags are getting their program going and will play host to the season-opening Moore League showcase this week.

“I’m grateful to be a part of history here at Cabrillo,” said coach Garrett Young, also the school’s baseball coach. “My players are just starting to realize the importance and gravity of being the first ever girls’ flag football team at Cabrillo.”

The Jags will be led by Aariya Casterjon, the team’s quarterback, and Patricia “Sunshine” Williams, a do-it-all skill player.

“This season we are looking to learn the game and have fun,” said Young. “None of the girls have played and many have never watched football–we’re excited to build a program for the future here at Cabrillo.”
