All of the elite young springboard and platform divers from Washington to Texas came to Riverside last month to compete for a spot at the USA Diving Junior National Championships.
Nine divers from Long Beach’s McCormick Divers earned a spot to compete at nationals at the end of July in Mission Viejo.
Katherine Mo (11 years old), Evelyn Wang (12), Isabella Chen (16) and Kyle Ly (17) competed in all three individual levels with great success. Chen won gold on the platform and 3-meter springboard, Ly won gold on the platform, Wang won gold on the platform and Mo took second in all three of her events.
Ryan Augustine (17) took gold on the 3-meter springboard while qualifying for both 1-meter and 3-meter. Avari Wang (17), Sayaka Bethel (14), Keani Wei (10) and Jamie Huynh (12) also qualified.
