Long Beach Athletes Prepare For CIF-SS Track & Field Prelims

The562’s coverage of track and field is sponsored by Bryson Financial

The city of Long Beach has an eye-popping 102 entrants into Saturday’s CIF Southern Section prelims, nearly all of them competing in Trabuco Hills at the Division 1 prelims, as well as St. Anthony competing in Division 4.

There are team championship contenders at Poly, Wilson, and Jordan, and Saturday’s qualifying will go a long way towards deciding who’s holding up hardware at the end of the day in Moorpark on May 13. Last year there were 93 entrants into the prelims with 50 making it through to Finals. We’ll have the full list of finals qualifiers Saturday night.
