The Moore League had two champions this year in the inaugural official year of beach volleyball, and they’re both representing the LBC well in the first-ever CIF Southern Section playoffs. Long Beach Poly and Wilson both won their opening-round playoff matches to advance to next week’s second round matches.
Wilson took down Santa Maria Valley Christian 5-0 and will host Ontario Christian on the LBCC sand courts at 3:30pm Monday. Poly beat Camarillo 3-2 and will travel to Downey Monday at 3 p.m.
If the teams advance from Monday they’d make it Tuesday’s quarterfinals; a win there and they’d make it to next Saturday’s historic inaugural CIF-SS championships, with the semifinals and finals taking place at LBCC on May 6.
