CIF Basketball: Jordan Boys Beat Liberty, Will Host Quarterfinal

The562’s coverage of Jordan Athletics is sponsored by John Ross, Class of 2013.

Jordan’s quest for a boys’ basketball CIF-SS championship took another big step forward on Friday night, as the Panthers took down Liberty on the road in the Division 4A second round, 76-69.

The Panthers were led by Kane Young and Franklyn Chambers, who each had 15 points. Jerome Wilson had 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Dennis Remond Jr. was the leading scorer with 19 points.

Jordan will host the quarterfinal matchup on Tuesday evening with Cate High at 7 p.m. If the Panthers win, the semifinals would be on Friday next week.
