There’s a key doubleheader tonight at Long Beach Poly as Lakewood visits the Ron Palmer Pavilion. The girls’ basketball showdown (5:30 p.m.) has first place on the line as the Lancers can win to force a tie at the top. Meanwhile, the boys’ game (7 p.m.) features two teams looking to remain in the title hunt to start the second round of league play, with the Jackrabbits looking to get revenge from a loss at Lakewood in December.

The Jackrabbits go bar-for-bar with the No. 4 team in the nation until the Jesters pulled away with two scores in the final 8:05 of the game to stay unbeaten on the year.
