HIGH SCHOOL

Jordan Washington, Jordan Football

Jordan sophomore Jordan Washington had two rushing touchdowns, a kickoff return for a score, and an interception in the Panthers’ 74-6 win over Cabrillo.

Rocky Tautai, Lakewood Football

Rocky Tautai had two touchdowns, a recovered fumble and a sack for the Lancers in a huge win over Wilson last week, which puts the Lancers in the drivers’ seat for a playoff spot.

Daylen Austin, Long Beach Poly Football

Star junior Daylen Austin had a big game for Poly in their win over Compton, with a punt return for a touchdown and a recovery on a kickoff, as well as stellar play at cornerback.

Tony Montez, Millikan Water Polo

Millikan senior Tony Montez had two goals, two assists and three steals in the first quarter alone during the Rams’ comfortable win over Lakewood last week in Moore League play.

Jason Parra, Millikan Cross Country

Millikan sophomore Jason Parra ran the fastest three-mile time for a Moore League runner at the Signal Hill meet this century, putting up a time of 16:03, 17 seconds faster than his next-closest competitor.

Camille Lindsay, Long Beach Poly Cross Country

Long Beach Poly junior Camille Lindsay had a new Moore League course record of 18:42 at Signal Hill, leading a strong Poly team finish with five in the top seven finishers. Lindsay beat the course record by 21 seconds and was the top finisher by more than a minute and a half.

Laura Williams, Lakewood Volleyball

Lakewood senior and Oregon State commit Laura Williams had a special week. After leading the Lancers to an undefeated league season, she received her Under Armour All-American jersey.

Adonia Faumuina, Long Beach Poly Volleyball

Long Beach Poly senior and USC commit Adonia Faumuina was also presented with her Under Armour All-American jersey last week, as the Moore League has two of the 24 athletes nationwide who will play in the game.
