High School Football Preview: St. Anthony at Salesian

The St. Anthony football team (5-3, 2-0) takes to the road tonight in a pivotal Del Rey League matchup at Salesian–one that could end up determining the league championship. Either way, the winner of tonight’s game is all but guaranteed a playoff spot.

The Saints are undefeated in league play after wins over La Salle and Mary Star, but they’re facing perhaps the best team in the league in Salesian. They’re the last two undefeated teams in the league after Salesian defeated Harvard-Westlake last week, 57-35.

The Saints will need their defense to contend with a quality Mustangs offense that’s averaging over 50 points per game in victories. Meanwhile Salesian will have to find a way to do what no other team in the league has been able to, and contain Saints RB Sone Aupiu.

We’ll have live updates from the game on the website.
