Katie Kennedy, Long Beach State Volleyball

The Long Beach State women’s volleyball team improved to 6-5 with an upset of No. 21 University of San Diego last week, their first Top 25 win in five seasons. Katie Kennedy had 16 kills on .538 hitting with three blocks and three digs in the win.

Corey Martin, LBCC Football

LBCC got back to the right side of .500 with a 31-10 win over Chaffey to improve to 2-1. The Vikings have only allowed 16 points in three games thanks to their dominant defense. Defensive lineman Corey Martin led the way in the win last weekend with three sacks.
