Massive Long Beach High School Girls’ Volleyball Preview

Long Beach’s high school girls’ volleyball players are fired up and ready to get back on the court. Girls’ volleyball was the only sport in the Moore League that didn’t get some kind of a season last year, a fact that was not lost on the top players in the city.

“No regular season, no playoffs, anything,” said Long Beach Poly senior star Adonia Faumuina. “We’re all excited to be back out there.”

Faumuina is joined by teammate Rylie McGinest (USC) and Lakewood foe Laura Williams (Oregon State) as a trio of Pac-12 commits in the senior class, another sign that girls’ volleyball joins track and field as the strongest sports in the city. The Jackrabbits and Lancers all made the preseason watch list for the CIF-SS’ top division, and Wilson made the list in Division 3 as well.

With league play set to kick off next week, local players, coaches and fans can’t wait to see the city’s best back in action.
