PHOTOS: Long Beach State Dirtbags Sweep UC Davis

Long Beach State put together a six-run seventh inning to beat UC Davis 10-4 in the regular season finale on Sunday at Bohl Diamond at Blair Field. The Dirtbags (28-15, 26-14) are on a six-game winning streak and are winners of 15 of their last 17 games. They’re a bubble at-large team for the NCAA postseason, and the selection show in Monday at 9 a.m. on ESPN2.

The Dirtbags fell behind 4-0 but Calvin Estrada hits a three-run home run in the fifth inning to spark the offense. It’s his tenth homer of the year, and the senior outfielder is the first Dirtbag to reach double-digit home runs since 2008.

In the seventh inning, the Dirtbags scored six runs while sending nine batters to the plate. Chase Luttrell hit the go-ahead home run.

According to LBSU, the Dirtbags rank 14th in shutouts, 21st in team ERA, 23rd in hits allowed per nine innings, 34th in fielding percentage, 53rd in strikeouts per nine, 63rd in batting average and 64th in slugging percentage in the country.
