Long Beach State women’s golf hosted the Gold Rush at Old Ranch Country Club this week and finished in the middle of the pack while USC took the team title by shooing even par.
“It was great to be back home hosting, seeing friends, and foes but more importantly our fans,” LBSU coach Joey Cerulle said. “We appreciate everything that Old Ranch did for us this week. Our rules officials and event staff ran a superb event.”
Senior Holland Shourds shot a 73 in the final round to lead the Beach. She finished tied for 16th individually.
“It wasn’t out best showing with the slow start, but we are getting back into the groove of things and finished the event closer to where we want to be,” Cerulle said. “We got better as a team and look to continue to grow into next weeks even.”
LBSU will travel to The Saticoy Club next week for the UCLA Bruin Wave Invitational.
