PREVIEW: Long Beach State Men’s Basketball New Season Opener

Five days after having the season opener at UCLA canceled hours prior to scheduled tipoff, Long Beach State men’s basketball is going to give it another go tonight at Loyola Marymount. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m.

LMU (1-2) won its home opener against Southern Utah last week. The Lions also dropped two games at Minnesota while Eli Scott showed why he’s a natural team leader. The 6’6” swing forward is averaging 12.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. Scott was a national champion captain at Chino Hills High in 2017.

These schools haven’t played each other since 2013 but they’re still very connected because LBSU coaches Myke Scholl and Senque Carey both worked at LMU. The Lions won the last meeting at Walter Pyramid in 2013.
