Millikan Lacrosse Wins Moore League Opener

Millikan made history on Friday by winning the first Moore League boys’ lacrosse game in Long Beach. The Rams held off Wilson in a thrilling 9-8 victory on the road.

Senior Matt Sutfin scored a game-high five goals for Millikan while Lassen Felix and Nick Magana each scored twice. Sutfin also had a team-high three assists. Rams goalkeeper Connor Cox finished with five saves.

Wilson visits Poly on Thursday for the next Moore League boys’ lacrosse game.

Also on Friday in Millikan girls’ lacrosse action, Millikan beat Cabrillo 13-9 on the road. Estrella Xelhuantzi Flores scored a hat trick for the Rams while Carly Brenner, Angelica Tapia, Celeste Salazar and Hannah Suttle each scored twice. Millikan goalie Alondra Pinzon Andrades made 12 saves in the win.

Millikan visits Poly on Monday for the Moore League opener.
