A familiar face returns to town as legendary Lakewood coach Thadd MacNeal brings his 1-0 Carlsbad team to Long Beach to face 1-0 Millikan. MacNeal led the Lancers to a Moore League title and a win over Poly in 2009 as well as back-to-back semifinal appearances in 2008 and 2009.
Millikan will be hungry for a 2-0 start after a thrilling win over Carson last week. The Rams got big plays from quarterback Qeanu Campbell-Caldwell and their defense down the stretch and will need to do the same against a Lancers team coming off a 42-14 win.
