Long Beach State track and field is at the Steve Scott Invitational this weekend before the Big West Championship next week, and Crystal Rodriguez set a top-10 mark in the women’s hammer on Friday. Rodriguez had a 54.13m toss that ranks seventh in school history.
Elsewhere in the field, Lauren Bartsch placed fourth, Lea Fong placed seventh and Hailee Brigman had a personal-best 3.65 meters for eighth. Nicholas Hudson was second in the hammer throw (61.26 meters), Jason Smith took third in the long jump (7.32 meters).
