After spending three of the first four weeks of the season on the road, Cabrillo is back on the Westside on Friday when the Jaguars host Marina.

The Jaguars entered the week on a high note after picking up their first win last week in a 35-0 victory over Maywood CES.

It was a thrilling victory for the Jaguars (1-3) where the offense broke loose as Aaron Lumpkin scored three touchdowns and Danny Lopez led the group while Fernando Leanos was out with an injury. Stephen Walker and Anthony McKinney also got into the end zone.

Marina (1-3) also picked up their first win last week in a high-scoring 66-56 victory over Cerritos.

The Vikings leaned on their rushing attack led by senior Ben Ramos who had 27 carries for 184 yards and five touchdowns, while Marina rushed for 349 yards combined and eight touchdowns. Junior Lucas Delgado also reached the century mark with 105 yards and two touchdowns.

Cerritos torched the Vikings’ defense for 500 yards through the air, so that will be an area Cabrillo will try and expose on Friday.

“They look solid,” Cabrillo coach Malcolm Manuel said of Marina. “They lost some games to some pretty good teams and last week were in a shootout.”

Kick off will be at 7 p.m. on Friday.
