As residents enjoy a relaxing summer in Long Beach, the scenic shoreline of the city is buzzing with excitement as they prepare for a major athletic event to return to the city. After a record-breaking race in 2025, the Supertri Long Beach, formerly known as the Long Beach Legacy Triathlon, is returning to the city July 19.
“Supertri Long Beach represents everything Supertri stands for; accessibility, community, and pushing the boundaries of what the sport can be,” said Michael D’hulst, CEO and Co-Founder of Supertri, in a press release. “We have seen incredible momentum in Long Beach, not only in participation but in the way the community and corporate teams rally together towards a shared cause. As we look to this year’s event, we are really focused on expanding opportunities for new athletes, elevating the race experience, and continuing to build a weekend that inspires friends, families, corporate teams, and competitors of every level.”
Whether this is your first time attempting a triathlon or you’re a veteran competitor, the event offers opportunities for everybody. The event features a free First Timers Program with a training plan, informative webinars and a supportive community to help those trying out triathlon racing.
Along with the First Timers Program, there will be a variety of other opportunities for participants of all ages and abilities to get involved. In connection with the 2026 USA Paratriathlon Nationals Qualifier Series being hosted at the shoreline venue, the Supertri Long Beach will have Sprint and Olympic distance races, along with the Corporate Challenge and the Kids Splash & Dash to bring in more participants.
The triathlon is a charitable event for all. In conjunction with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), the Supertri Long Beach raises money to support CHLA’s pediatric cancer research program.
With one week until the Supertri Long Beach, the event has already garnered tons of interest from the community. Registrations are up 30% as compared to last year and over $20 million has been raised, marking an extraordinary celebration for the 125th anniversary for CHLA.
The event will take place on Sunday, July 19th along the waterfront of Long Beach from Alamitos Bay to the Queen Mary. If you are still interested in registering for the event, you can follow this link: https://supertri.com/long-beach/
