Moore League girls’ golf action continued with Wilson hosting rival Long Beach Poly on Thursday at Recreation Park. The Bruins bested the Jackrabbits by a narrow margin of 248-250.
Although Wilson lost some notable golfers after last season, Head Coach Paul Henry placed a lot of hope in returning team captain Charlotte White. The senior had a +3 round, which contributed to the team’s win.
The other big Bruins were Sophia Canfield and Ava Phillips. Canfield had a chip-in on the first hold, and Philips had a birdie on the seventh hole, which helped propel the team to their close victory.
Wilson will be back in action on Tuesday when they tee off against Millikan at El Dorado. Long Beach Poly will host Lakewood on Tuesday, as well, for another day on the green at Recreation Park.
