Massive Long Beach Football Preview

We couldn’t be more excited for another Long Beach football season. Millikan kicks things off today in Nevada, then there’s a full slate of games next Friday. This season will feature another much-hyped battle between Millikan and Long Beach Poly, as well as the final season of Veterans Memorial Stadium, the city’s home of high school football since the 1950s. After 2025’s season is concluded, the historic venue and former home of the Milk Bowl is being torn down to make way for a new renovated Vets.

Between now and then there will be big games and bigger moments, well-known stars who shine as well as unknowns who make a name for themselves under the Friday night lights. The562’s crew is back for an 18th season covering high school football in Long Beach and we can’t wait to see you on a sideline soon!
